Her Christmas dream is unattainable, but he wants to give her a Christmas that touches her soul.
Meg Stratton is excited about having her boys for the holidays. But her ex-husband sweeps in and takes them with no warning—two weeks before Thanksgiving. This is the first holiday season in seven years when Meg would have had them with her. She understands her former drug addiction played a huge part in her losing her marriage and custody of her sons. She’s been clean since then, has an established home, and has a steady job, but she doesn’t feel worthy enough as a mother to fight to get her boys back.
Wade Palmer is drawn to Meg but doesn’t want to be. She is trouble waiting to happen. Due to his stint overseas fighting for his country, he wasn’t there to stop his younger sister from taking an overdose. Now as a cop he sees plenty of former addicts return to their drug of choice once life gets tough. And, Meg’s life has gotten tough. He fights his attraction to Meg, but she draws him with her broken heart and her need of a friend.
When Wade and Meg agree to help an elderly woman with her nonprofit business assisting homebound elderly residents, Wade sees Meg’s strength of character, while she sees and longs for the peace and steadiness of his faith. But when Meg’s former drug dealer comes to town looking for her, and her ex refuses to let her have contact with her boys, what will that stress do to their budding relationship?
